Privacy policy
Last updated on 16 October 2026. In short: we scan the market, not you. We collect as little as possible and never sell your data.
Who we are
Supplementscanner is a price-comparison service for food supplements. We continuously read 13 stores and show the lowest price per serving or per kilo for each category. You don't need an account to use the comparison pages, and you leave nothing behind.
If you have any questions about this policy or about your data, please contact us via the contact form on the site.
What data we process
We deliberately keep it minimal. In concrete terms, this covers:
- Newsletter. If you sign up, we subscribe you to the weekly price drops straight away. As proof of your consent we keep your email address, the site and language you signed up on, when you signed up, and the wording of the sign-up form. Nothing more, and you can unsubscribe with one click at the bottom of every email.
- Usage measurement. We measure in anonymised form how pages are used (which categories are popular, overall visitor numbers) to improve the scanner. This cannot be traced back to you as a person.
- Click-throughs to shops. If you click through to an online shop, that click passes through a redirect so we can count which offers resonate (and, where applicable, receive an affiliate commission). We record the click, not who you are.
- Technical logs. Like every website, our servers temporarily process technical data (e.g. IP address, browser type) in order to function and to prevent abuse.
Why we do this (legal basis)
We process this data on the basis of your consent (the newsletter, which you request yourself) and our legitimate interest in keeping the scanner working, secure and improving. We never use your data for anything other than the purpose it was collected for.
Cookies
We only use functional cookies that are needed to make the site work, plus a light, privacy-friendly form of usage measurement. We do not place third-party advertising or tracking cookies to follow you across the web.
Sharing with third parties
We do not sell your data. We only share it with service providers who help us run the site (for example for hosting or sending the newsletter), and only to the extent necessary. They are not allowed to use your data for their own purposes.
The shops you click through to have their own privacy policies, which apply as soon as you are on their site.
How long we keep data
We keep your email address for as long as you are subscribed to the newsletter; if you unsubscribe, we delete it. Anonymised measurement data and technical logs are kept no longer than needed for their purpose.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to access, correct or have your data deleted, and to withdraw consent you have previously given. Submit your request via the contact form on the site and we will handle it as quickly as possible. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when the last change was made. We will let you know about any significant changes.
